Self-serving as though it may be, we urge Eufaula-area shoppers to keep their dollars here. It's not only good for us. It's good for the community.
Retail shopping makes up two-thirds of the U.S. economy, and keeping dollars at home is vital to communities like Eufaula, which, quite frankly, aren't growing.
The more dollars we send elsewhere, the more damage is done to the local economy.

The article makes very good points. Especially with high gas prices right now, there is no need to drive somewhere else to save a few dimes.
